Roof replacement is one of the more complex projects you’ll be doing for your home. Contrary to popular belief, it’s not as straightforward as tearing off the old shingles and fitting the new ones. So, what can you expect from your upcoming roofing project
Before the replacement process begins, we will deliver a dumpster to your home which we will use for disposing of your old shingles. A second dumpster may be necessary if you’re planning to recycle your old asphalt shingles.
After a few days, our roofers will deliver your brand new shingles. We will usually store these in your driveway or on your roof so you may want to move your car or allocate ample space in your yard. At this time, we recommend you take necessary steps to secure your valuables in your garden and move pets. Replacing the roof is noisy work, and your pets may not like it.
During installation, we start by tearing off the old shingles from the roof and disposing or recycling them according to your preference. This exposes the sheathing and underlayment, but we take extra steps to protect these from the elements.
We then fasten the shingles securely onto your roof and take care of any special requests, such as repairing damage structures or installing a gutter system.
Once we’re done, we do a routine sweep of the new roof to make sure it’s properly installed. We will also take a look at your yard or backyard to get rid of any dirt or debris that may have fallen during the installation process.
A few days afterwards, we will pick up the dumpster and will do a recap of what we’ve done so far, after which we collect the final payment for the project. If you purchased a warranty from us (which we always recommend), we’ll do the necessary paperwork for you.
